A musical evening with French-Lebanese multi-instrumentalist Abaji (who uses only one name). The artiste plays a number of string and wind instruments, including guitar, clarinet, oud, bouzouki, flute, sitar and violin.
He also sings in a range of languages, including Arabic, French, Greek and Turkish.

Michael Anthony Dias, the lead guitarist and frontman of Mad Orange Fireworks, has been taking over indie music hot spot CounterCulture on Fridays this month. Expect jam sessions with local musicians, and a short masterclass on guitar.

The Tahatto theatre group’s Vikram Sridhar will conduct a two-day workshop for children aged 10-13. There will be group and individual activities in which the participants will learn to build stories and enact them. The children will also participate in exercises to build awareness of their surroundings and the self through movement, voice and expression.

Subjects & Spaces, Women in Indian Photography

This exhibition showcases the portrayal of women in Indian photography from the 1850s to the 1970s. It presents over 60 images from the archives of the Bangalore-based Tasveer Foundation, including studio portraits, film stills, postcards, cabinet cards and lobby cards. These photographic mediums take us on a journey from colonial studies of Indian women in the 19th century, to private studio portraits from the early 20th century, and then to the iconic and glamorous photographs of Bollywood actresses from the 1940s and 1950s.
