Cooking with Lounge | Tuna in marinara

Tonnarello Alla Marinara


200g white tuna fish fillets (2 pieces)

2 lemon wedges

50ml tomato purée

1 tsp oregano

1 tsp anchovies

1 tsp onions, chopped

2 tbsp butter

3 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp parsley, finely chopped

Salt and pepper to taste


Marinate the tuna with lemon juice of two wedges, salt, pepper and 1 tbsp olive oil and keep aside for half an hour. Take a pan, heat 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp olive oil, cook the marinated tuna in it till golden on either side. Remove and place on a plate.

To make the sauce, take a fresh pan, add the remaining butter and olive oil, put in garlic and onions and sauté till golden brown. Add the anchovies, tomato purée, oregano, parsley and cook for 2 minutes, then add salt and pepper. Mix well and take off the gas. Pour the sauce on the tuna. Optionally, serve with a side of sliced boiled potato and sautéd seasonal vegetables.
