Lounge podcast | On reporting India and happy families
Hello and welcome to the Lounge Podcast. This is your host Anindita Ghose and we have a couple of interesting interviews and our staple film review for you this week.
First, the American magazine Newsweek’s India correspondent Jeremy Kahn talks to us about his experiences reporting in India for the last three years. Jeremy comes to India with reporting experience in the UK, Western Europe, Venezuela, Ivory Coast and Iraq, but India is the first place he calls ‘home’. We’ll talk to Jeremy about the deference that he gets as a foreign journalist in India, the challenges reporting in India and why he continues to love it.
Rachna Nakra from our Mumbai team speaks with Azim Zainulbhai about Restaurant Week. Azim is responsible for bringing the New York dining concept of ‘restaurant week’ to India. Listen on about how some of Mumbai’s most high-end restaurants will serve a three-course meal for only Rs1,000 plus taxes.
Finally, our film critic Sanjukta Sharma does a wrap up of the film of the week—The Kajol and Kareena Kapoor starrer, ‘We are Family’. She tells you why it is a sloppy tearjerker that tests your patience.
We love to hear from you so do write to us at lounge@livemint.com
