NEW DELHI :
Android smartphone users who rely on Google Maps for navigation will now be able to add an extra stop on routes. While navigating from point A to point B, detours for petrol stations, restaurants, grocery stores, ATM machines, etc., can be added without having to exit the navigation mode, and a new route can be recreated with the additional stop.
Google Maps will list points of interest in a drop-down menu; users can also manually search for a location that may not have been in the original list. Again, without exiting the navigation mode. Once an additional stop is added, the estimated time of arrival at the final destination is recalculated. The new feature, which is free to use, is currently available for Google’s Android phones. We expect the iOS version to get an update in the next few days.
