A colourful silence

Currently, there are more than 300 residents, including local Nepalese as well as international travellers, who are enrolled in residential courses, seeking to immerse themselves in meditation and dharma.

When I reached, I found it a welcome breather from Kathmandu’s fume-choked air and teeming tourist spots. I saw Buddhist scripts and Harry Potter novels perched side by side in the wooden library. I saw 360-degree valley views from the circular “viewing platform" (the view from the more-famous Swayambhunath stupa is not half as spectacular). I people-watched and sipped a lemon soda at the Kopan Café.
