Planning to become a regular at Monte Carlo’s seaside resorts? Be advised: Unless you want to be mistaken for a tourist—whether you are one or not is irrelevant—you have to dress well.

This season, there are some adventurous, yet classy, collections to choose from. Boss Black Menswear has a collection inspired by a Malibu Beach party. The suits comes in colours, including blue, white, red, green and pastels. Stripes and anchor motifs add a maritime theme, lending a definite holiday feel to the collection.

Ermenegildo Zegna’s collection of suits has a definite luxurious feel with unusual natural fibres and details. The fabric is innovative bamboo, but with an extremely soft touch. An extra bit of elegance is added with mother-of-pearl buttons and pointed lapels.

For a funky street-to-the-club kind of suit—you could pick up a more adventurous piece from Gaultier’s Spring/Summer collection.

But for a regular suit wearer, there’s nothing like the master of suit brands—Brioni, which has catered to Hollywood and the business world’s finest since 1945. A suit bought from Brioni is a classic that can be worn for many seasons to come. Unless you’re one to really splurge, it’s better to buy a classic suit from this brand. But if you want some summer wear, the choices are fantastic. My favourites are the suit with a denim finish jacket that is cut so beautifully you can’t stop looking at it, and the beige suits—elegant, timeless, yet modern and beautifully crafted.

So whether you’re off to London, or just back home, but aren’t ready to shrug off your European mood just yet, your fashionable summer suit will be your ticket to a never-ending stylish vacation.
