In 1987, he bowled the last over of the final in Kolkata. England needed 17 runs for a win, McDermott conceded 9 and it was enough for Australia to lift the Cup. In 1992, he bowled the first over of the opening match vs New Zealand in Auckland. His first two balls were wides, but the next ball bowled John Wright.

Glen McGrath, Australia

He bowled the last ball of the 1996 World Cup; Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga playing it late for a four to hand his team the trophy. Mcgrath had better luck in 2003. Zaheer Khan skied his delivery, handing Australia the Cup.
