A new show by Animal Planet celebrates the wildlife of the Indian subcontinent and has a special anthem dedicated to it

India just ushered in the 67th year of its Independence and to commemorate this occasion, Animal Planet has come up with a new show called Yeh Mera India, to celebrate the country’s diverse wildlife.

The month-long series that will take viewers from the mountains of Himalayas to the wetlands of Odisha, and from the Sahyadari ranges in Western Ghats to Bandhavgarh Forests, will also feature rare species like the Lion-tailed Macaque, Mahseer fish, Goonch fish, Malabar Pit Vipers, Dholes and Gharials.

For the program, the channel has also come up with Yeh Mera India, a special anthem composed by Bollywood music directors Salim and Sulaiman Merchant and sung by Salim, June Banerjee and Nandini Srikar in Hindi, Bengali and Tamil, respectively.

On today’s show we have Nandini, who has sung for various bollywood movies like Johny Gaddar, Ra. One and Shanghai to name a few and June who has sung for Bengali films like Khokababu and Lorai, who tell us more about their association with the series and what all did they learn from the show.
