Download Central | Apple iOS 8.1

The update also includes the iCloud Photo Library and many more features

Apple has released an update for its iPhone and iPad operating system (OS). iOS 8.1 follows iOS 8, which was released on 9 September.

Users will be happy with the return of the Camera Roll feature in the Gallery— Apple had replaced this with a section called “Recently Added", which displayed photographs and videos captured within the last month.

The update also includes the iCloud Photo Library. iPhone and iPad users who also use iMacs and MacBooks (running OS X Yosemite) can utilize the Handoff feature, which allows them to pick up documents and mail on other devices and continue working on these. Users will be able to send text messages from their iPad and Mac devices, and also make and receive voice calls. Apple Pay, which turns the phone into a mobile-payment machine, has been rolled out for the US region only at the moment.

iOS 8.1 is free to download. It can be installed on iPhone 4s and later, iPod Touch (fifth generation), iPad 2 and later, and iPad Mini and later.
