Superstar Dharmendra goes about playing a crooked, depraved father with artful indifference in Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, the sequel to his first film with both his sons, Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol.

Dharmendra is just about present in the scenes of this ludicrously-plotted and sloppily-told comedy about a father-son duo (Dharmendra and Bobby Deol) out to swindle millionaires. The sons are supposed to do the job of carrying off the story. The ageing man’s other son (Sunny Deol) is the big, righteous guy who can lift large vehicles with his hands and set people flying with just a bellow of his throat. The farcical humour has a few stray sparks, but this film, at 150 minutes, is a bellicose assault on the senses. Whoever plays the orangutan has got himself noticed.
