Indian bond yields hit fresh 3-year high

Mumbai: Indian federal bond yields hit a fresh three-year high on Tuesday, before retreating to close largely steady after rising for five successive sessions, as sharp falls in local equities and global crude prices were offset by lined-up debt supplies. The 10-year bond yield closed steady at 8.54%, after hitting 8.55%, its highest since 29 September, 2008. Total volumes on the central bank’s electronic trading platform were an average 9,155 crore.
