Mumbai: Asia Index Pvt. Ltd. said on Tuesday that S&P BSE Sensex would be derived from S&P BSE 100 Index effective from June 2016.

Under the current method of selection, the eligible companies for Sensex were selected from all common equities listed at BSE.

The 30-share Sensex is the benchmark equity index of BSE.

Asia Index Pvt. Ltd is a 50-50 partnership between S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC and BSE.
