Asia will emerge as top global destination for private equity investment: Abrar Mir
Abrar Mir, managing partner at Quadria Capital, says both India and South-east Asia are benefiting from a period of sustainable and predictable growth
While India’s private equity (PE) investments saw a record year in 2017, both in terms of deals and exits, reflects an overall positive sentiment towards Asia, it is also proof that managers in the country have been able to execute their investment plans all the way to successful exits, Abrar Mir, managing partner, Quadria Capital, the healthcare-focused private equity fund, said in an interaction. “This (exits) had always been a historic challenge. Translating positive macro trends into specific company benefits on the ground with consistency of exits, has always been a hurdle in India. Over the past 18 months, vibrancy in both the capital markets and strategic activity has enabled private equity investors to show exits and real cash returns to their limited partners," Mir added.
