Mumbai: Indian shares fell nearly 1% on Thursday, their biggest single-day percentage fall in more than two weeks after hawkish comments from US Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen reinforced the case for an interest rate hike later this month.
The Nifty fell 0.85%, or 67.20 points, to close at 7,864.15 points, while the Sensex dropped 0.89%, or 231.23, points, to close at 25,886.62 points, their biggest single-day percentage fall since 18 November. Reuters
