Chart of the Day | Raining on the GDP parade

Rain watching is passé. The monsoon no longer affects economic growth in a big way as the share of agriculture in economic output has declined over the years. Citigroup says other factors are the on-going employment scheme, the growing use of gold as a productive asset, and short-term reasons as decent water levels and food stocks.
