Emerging Asia props up world industrial production growth

The chart shows the growth of industrial production in the world in the year to June 2016, with a 2005 base taken as 100. The indices are on volume of industrial production, seasonally adjusted, taken from the CPB World Trade Monitor.

As the chart indicates, industrial production in the US, Japan and in Latin America is lower than a year ago. In Europe, industrial production is more or less stagnant. The only area of decent growth is the emerging markets of Asia.
