Mumbai: The rupee gained marginally against the US dollar on Wednesday as dealers sold the US currency in the later part of trading, expecting continuing foreign inflows into the local stock market.

The rupee ended at 54.84 per dollar, up from Monday’s close of 54.95 per dollar. It recouped its losses after touching an intraday low of 55.10 per dollar.

The 30-share benchmark Sensex ended at 19,417 points ,up 0.84% on BSE Ltd.
