New Delhi: Human resource managers always face the problem of spotting a potential hire in a crowd. This typically involves sifting through thousands of resumés; sometimes hundreds of thousands; to zero in on the hire that can make it.

Pick-and-choose: Gaurav Mittal, co-founder, ITCONS e-Solutions.

After facing this on an everyday basis for at least 10 years in the outsourcing industry, Gaurav Mittal, along with Swati Jain and Ujjwal Prakash in 2007, founded ITCONS e-Solutions Pvt. Ltd, a company that has created recruitment relationship management solutions.

Apart from applicant tracking, the Web-based solution it devised, scans and collates information from resumés obtained from various sources including internal folders and email clients.

The information then goes into a database that is common to everyone in a company.

On average, the cost of processing a resumé manually is around Rs3 but the system does this in 20 seconds at a cost of less than 5 paise, Mittal says.
