Kolkata: Fake currency of different countries valued at about 10 crore was seized from a middle-aged person in Howrah district on Tuesday, following which he was arrested, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, a special task force team of the Kolkata Police raided a house at Domjur of Howrah district and seized fake currencies of different foreign countries including US dollars, Turkey Lira, Zimbabwean dollars besides Indian rupees, they said.

“We have arrested one person from whose house the fake currency, which is close to 10 crore, was seized. We are are yet to ascertain the face value of the fake foreign currencies," a senior official said.
