New RSS-BJP liaison
Krishna Gopal replaces Suresh Soni
New Delhi: Suresh Soni, the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) man in charge of liaising with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been replaced by joint general-secretary Krishna Gopal.
The announcement was made on Monday though Gopal has already been introduced to all senior leaders of the BJP in state units for better coordination.
“RSS doesn’t remove any of its members. It is wrong to say Suresh Soni has been removed. The right way to look at the decision is to say that Krishna Gopal has been asked to handle the day-to-day coordination with BJP," said an RSS leader who is in Lucknow where the ideological parent of the ruling BJP is going to hold a three-day meeting. He declined to be named.
