Petitioner hurls shoe at Supreme Court judges
New Delhi: The Supreme Court complex witnessed chaotic scenes on Friday after a petitioner threw her shoe at a bench comprising justices A. Pasayat and A.K. Ganguly.
The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by Pavitra Murali, Leila David and Annette Kotian, members of the Mumbai-based Boss School of Music, that made allegations against the judiciary, calling judges “corrupt" and “biased".
On Friday morning, Murali threw the shoe at the bench, which then ordered the court registrar to take the three petitioners into custody and also sentenced them to three months’ imprisonment.
