New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said on Tuesday that it has registered two cases relating to an alleged recruitment fraud against more than 20 officials at Bokaro Steel Plant, a unit of state-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).
Some of the executives are retired, it said.
The federal agency is conducting searches at 36 locations in Ranchi, Patna, Bokaro, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mumbai and the National Capital Region.
The officials booked include a former managing director and a former executive director of Bokaro steel plant, CBI said.
“It has been alleged that around 13 candidates were favoured and got selected for the posts of middle management/junior management level at Bokaro steel plant by adopting fraudulent recruitment and selection process," it said in a statement.
A SAIL spokesperson declined to comment.
