According to latest available data, the highest dropout rate among school students (Class I-X) was reported from both Assam and Meghalaya (77.4%), followed by Nagaland (75.1%), Sikkim (69.9%) and Rajasthan (68.5%). Gujarat has a dropout rate of 57.9%, and this is worse than the national average dropout rate of 49.3%.
