BJP West Bengal vice-president Jay Prakash Majumdar gets bail
Jay Prakash Majumdar was accused of receiving money from job aspirants and held in custody for investigation
Kolkata: The Calcutta high court on Friday granted conditional bail to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) vice-president in West Bengal, Jay Prakash Majumdar, who was arrested by the Kolkata Police on 14 January on charges of cheating.
He was accused of receiving money from job aspirants and held in custody for investigation. Majumdar and the BJP rebutted the charges, saying he wasn’t even named in the complaint lodged with the police.
The court asked Majumdar to visit the police station investigating the matter at least twice every week.
