Ravi Shankar Prasad sets target of 150 mn MyGov users

New Delhi: The government is planning to get at least 100-150 million users registered on online discussion portal www.MyGov.in against the 3.5 million users now.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the website on 26 July 2014 to get on board people’s suggestions on government policies.
India has a population of 1.28 billion, with 1.03 billion mobile phones and 400 million Internet users, out of which 60% are on mobile, Prasad said at the event.
In the last two years, 120 million users have been connected through mobile.And with such a large number of Internet users, the number of registered users on MyGov at 3.5 million is less and should be at least 100-150 million, he said.
The portal, which is available in English and English, will be made available in the regional languages, said Gaurav Dwivedi, chief executive officer of MyGov.
Prasad said the achievements of ordinary people, which don’t get mentioned on TV and newspapers, should be given more space on MyGov.
All suggestions, even if they are tinged with criticism, should be considered for implementation, he said, adding: “you think for the country, you suggest for the country.
