New Delhi: The tourism ministry and culture ministry on Wednesday identified areas common to them to resolve coordination issues in existing projects and to take up new ones. The ideas from the meeting chaired by tourism minister Shripad Yesso Naik will be highlighted when the ministries make a presentation before Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The areas of convergence include improvement of visitor amenities at monuments and heritage sites, publicity for the festivals of India by the tourism ministry, collaboration for food festivals, coordination with the Indian Council for Culture Relations (ICCR) and development of a common calendar for road shows.

They also include e-ticketing facilities in collaboration with travel booking sites such as irctc.co.in, implementation of the “Clean India" campaign at monuments and development of tourist circuits, including the Gandhi heritage circuit and Buddhist circuit, among other destinations.
