ICMR launches a pilot project to power primary health centres with solar energy

New Delhi: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) launched a pilot project to power primary health centres with solar energy in three states.

Launched on Wednesday, the project will cover Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Rajasthan. The pilot will evaluate the impact of solar power on healthcare delivery and health outcomes.

ICMR signed a memorandum of understanding with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, a policy research institution, to launch the initiative.
