New Delhi: Five members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) walked out of the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probing the second generation spectrum scam after they fell out with the ruling Congress on the question of calling Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and finance minister P. Chidambaram for questioning.
“We could not take it when they accused us of making it a kangaroo court. We walked out of the meeting,” Sinha added.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said it was astounding that junior members of Congress had accused Sinha and Jaswant Singh of playing politics by calling the prime minister and the finance minister.
Prasad said no fair investigation could be held unless the two were called before the committee.
The BJP will announce its decision of resigning from the committee on Thursday.
