CBSE’s AIPMT retest dress code: half-sleeve shirts, slippers, no rings or bracelets

CBSE has barred rings, bracelet, earrings, nose pins, pendants and even watches at examination centres

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked students appearing for the AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) retest on 25 July to come in light clothes without big buttons and wear open slippers.

It has barred rings, bracelet, earrings, nose pins, pendants and even watches at examination centres.

Coming out with strict instructions on the dress code to be observed, it asked the students to appear at the exam centres well in advance for compulsory frisking.

“Wear light clothes with half sleeves shirts, T-Shirts, kurta not having big buttons, brooch or any badge, flower and trousers and salwars. Wear open slippers and not shoes," CBSE said.

The barred items also include mobile phones, bluetooth devices, earphones, hair band, belts, cap and scarves. CBSE said that students failing to observe the instructions would not be allowed to appear for the exam.

The decision to reconduct the examination came after Supreme Court directions in the wake of allegations of large-scale irregularities in the first examination held on 3 May.

Nearly 6.3 lakh candidates had registered for AIPMT, 2015.

CBS also made it clear that the retest will be conducted only for “already registered candidates".

CBSE had on 23 June announced thath the AIPMT retest would be held on 25 July 2015 (Saturday) from 10.00am to 01.00pm.

The admit cards for the exam have been hosted on the AIPMT website. CBSE has asked students to fix a passport size photograph on an admit card after downloading it and get it attested by a gazetted officer or the head of the institution.
