In Rajasthan, it appeared set to form a government, unseating the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. The main opposition party at the Centre, BJP, on its part, retained power in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In Mizoram, it was a landslide victory for the Congress.
