New Delhi: Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party member of Parliament (MP) is seeking to defend the Nellore Lok Sabha constituency which he currently represents.
Along with his wife Mekapati Mani Manjari and sons Prithvi Kumar Reddy Mekapati, Gautham Reddy Mekapati and Vikram Reddy Mekapati, he has a stake in KMC Constructions Ltd. His family members control a web of companies that are primarily in the business of road construction, real estate and infrastructure. These include KMC Road Holdings Pvt. Ltd, KMC Infratech Pvt. Ltd, Guruvayoor Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd, Brindavan Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd, Krishnarjuna Real Estates Pvt. Ltd, Andaman Angling Agency Pvt. Ltd, Pink City Expressway Pvt. Ltd, Rayalaseema Expressway Pvt. Ltd and North Malabar Expressway Pvt. Ltd. Several companies have significant cross-holdings.
Reddy confirmed the names of several family-controlled companies over the phone. He promised to revert with a response to a detailed set of questions emailed to him, but had not done so till date. Reddy said that his business was managed by his sons and that they were “well qualified" to do the job.
