The business interests of H.D. Deve Gowda

New Delhi: H.D. Deve Gowda, the former prime minister is contesting from Jassan in Karnataka on a Janata Dal (Secular) ticket. While Gowda does not have stakes in any companies, data from the registrar of companies show that his son and former Karnataka chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s wife Anitha, along with her son Nikhil, have significant stakes in three companies—Asia Pacific Aviotronics India Pvt. Ltd, Annik Technologies Pvt. Ltd and Pradhaan Infotech Pvt Ltd.

Separately, Gowda’s other son H.D. Ramesh, along with wife Sowmiya Ramesh, also has significant stakes in three companies—Bhartiya Mines and Minerals Pvt. Ltd, Devambika Nursing Home Pvt. Ltd and Raja Rajeshwari International Polymar Pvt. Ltd.

Gowda did not respond to a questionnaire emailed to his party’s publicly listed email addresses. Mint could not ascertain the exact nature of businesses transacted by these firms.
