The business interests of Gaddam Vivekanand

Gaddam Vivekanand, the Congress member of Parliament (MP) representing Peddapalli constituency in Andhra Pradesh, is seeking to retain the seat after 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Along with wife Saroja and daughter Vritika, he controls Visaka Group of Companies that has interests in businesses including thermal power, construction and real estate, and the media. The three family members have direct stakes in companies that include Visaka Industries Ltd, Visaka Thermal Power Ltd, Maddi Constructions Pvt. Ltd, Gautami Media Pvt. Ltd, Sandadi Media Pvt. Ltd and A-Bond Strands Pvt. Ltd.

Several of these are holding companies that have subsidiaries with cross-holdings among themselves. Vivekanand did not respond to a questionnaire e-mailed to him.
