Cisco to help Telangana build digital zone smart city in Hyderabad
Cisco will set up digital zone smart city project in Hyderabad, open a centre of excellence and a Living Lab on the T-Hub premises to foster innovation
Hyderabad: Networking equipment maker Cisco Systems Inc. on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Telangana government to accelerate the digital transformation of the India’s youngest state.
As per the agreement with Telangana, Cisco will set up digital zone smart city project in Hyderabad, open a centre of excellence and a Living Lab on the T-Hub premises to foster innovation and enable start-ups to build solutions around internet of things (IoT) and cyber security.
Cisco will also help remote education in 10 schools in Karimnagar, and deploying digital solutions to enhance the experience of visitors to the historic Qutubshahi tombs near Golconda.
“Digitization will be key to how cities, communities and countries maintain global competitiveness, increase GDP growth, foster innovation and create new jobs," said Dinesh Malkani, president of Cisco India and South Asia.
