New Delhi: Baijayant “Jay” Panda comes from a prominent business family and is a member of the Lok Sabha, representing Kendrapara constituency in Odisha from where he won the election in 2009 as a candidate of the Biju Janata Dal. He is running for re-election to Parliament from the same constituency.
The Panda family has wide-ranging business interests—from media and communications to legal and financial services, aviation to real estate, infrastructure, coal, mining and power.
Along with his wife Jagi Mangat Panda, Jay Panda controls companies in the media and communication space including Ortel Communications Ltd, Ortel Wireless Services Pvt. Ltd, Kahani Unlimited Pvt. Ltd, Odisha Television Ltd and Orissa Telefims Pvt. Ltd, to name a few. NSR-PE Mauritius Llc and Orissa State Electronics Development Corp. Ltd own stakes in Ortel Communications.
Apart from the family holdings, Jay Panda is a director on the board of Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Ltd.
