Cyclone Kyant, which is gathering momentum in the Bay of Bengal, will cause heavy rainfall in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Orissa from Thursday onwards, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).

It is the first cyclone of the season to develop in the Bay of Bengal.
