Park Street rape case: 3 convicts sentenced to 10 years imprisonment

New Delhi: A Kolkata court on Friday sentenced three men convicted of raping a 37-year-old woman in a moving car to 10 years in prison.
The court had found them guilty of gang rape, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation on Thursday.
Additional sessions judge for the fast-track court, Chiranjib Bhattacharya, also fined the three ₹ 1 lakh each. If they fail to pay the fine, they will spend an additional six months in jail.
Nishad Khan alias Ruman Khan, Naseer Khan and Sumit Bajaj, with two others—Kadir Khan and Mohammed Ali—were accused of raping Suzette Jordan.
The rape victim, who died in March this year of brain fever, filed her first information report on 9 February 2012, saying that these five men raped her at gunpoint in a moving car on the night of 5 February.
Kadir Khan and Ali have been absconding since, and did not face trial.
