Congress politician and urban development minister Kamal Nath is contesting Lok Sabha elections to retain the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh. Nath had entered the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1980 from Chhindwara.

Nath’s immediate family, wife Alka and sons Nakul and Bakul, controls companies that have interests ranging from real estate to aviation and from plantations to hospitality. Some companies in which the Nath family has direct stakes include Span Plantations Pvt. Ltd, Alzo Investments Pvt. Ltd, Nakul Securities Pvt. Ltd, Bakul Holdings Pvt. Ltd, EMC Projects Pvt. Ltd and International Management Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Some subsidiaries include Span Air Pvt. Ltd, Centenary Trading Pvt. Ltd and Shaka Properties Pvt. Ltd.

Nath is also president of the governing board of the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad—a business school. Bakul Nath is vice-president on the board.

Nath did not respond to e-mailed queries.
