New Delhi: An online beneficiaries registration system, ‘On-line On-Site’, was launched on Monday to ensure transparency in schemes implemented by the ministry to provide assistive aids Persons with Disabilities.

Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot, who inaugurated a mega camp for free of cost distribution of Assistive Aids and Appliances to the Persons with Disabilities under the ADIP scheme at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, said that this registration system will help in saving time.

Replacement of the old manual registration process with the ‘On-line On-Site’ registration system will bring absolute transparency in implementation of ADIP and ADIP-SSA schemes of Government of India for providing assistive aids and appliances to Persons with Disabilities and children with special needs across the nation, a statement quoting Gehlot said.

The ‘On-line On-Site’ beneficiaries registration system is an initiative taken up by ALIMCO, as part of the Digital India campaign. The details of online registered beneficiaries with their photograph will be uploaded immediately in the official website of ALIMCO during the assessment itself and will be accessible to one and all, it said.

Moreover, beneficiaries will also be updated about the information on distribution camp through mobile SMS service, it said. Gehlot also announced that his ministry assures to set up a hostel of 500 seats for SC, ST and differently-abled in Gwalior district if the demand is initiated by the concerned department of the state or district administration.

Motorised Tricycle with Utility Box, which can be used by beneficiaries with over 80 per cent of disability for selling items like milk packets, newspapers or other similar items, was also launched on the occasion. Union Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also spoke on the occasion.

A total of differently-abled 2924 persons, pre-identified during the assessment camps conducted at different locations in June, were provided various types of aids and assistive devices manufactured and distributed by ALIMCO, functioning under the ministry, worth of over 2 crore under the ADIP scheme in the camp.
