New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s political future is under scrutiny after his Aam Aadmi Party’s humiliating defeat in Delhi municipal corporations elections. Before Delhi, AAP was rejected by voters in Goa, while it emerged as the second choice in Punjab during recently concluded assembly elections despite a high-pitched campaign and favourable exit poll predictions.
Instead of introspection and strengthening party organisation after poll results, Kejriwal and other AAP leaders have questioned the credibility of electronic voting machines (EVMs) drawing flak from various quarters.
After MCD poll results, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia again raised the issue of EVM tampering. “EVM tampering is the bitter truth of the country’s democracy. One can crack jokes on us initially, but fearing being made fun of, we cannot refrain from speaking the truth," PTI quoted Sisodia.
Here is what’s been said on Arvind Kejrwial and AAP so far in the wake of the MCD election results:
■ Amit Shah: “The people of Delhi have rejected the negative politics and the politics of excuses and helped Modiji’s ‘vijay rath’ to move forward. It is recognition of Modiji’s leadership," the BJP president said after his party’s massive victory in the MCD polls. (PTI)
■ Anna Hazare: “He said he won’t take car, bungalow and salary, but took all three. He even gave MLAs the biggest raise in India. There is big gap between what he says and what he does," CNN-News18 quoted the anti-corruption activist as saying on Arvind Kejriwal.

■ Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi: “Lesson & message for ‘EVM Vilaap Mandli’- Instead of blaming EVM, respect people’s mandate & do introspection. #DelhiMCDpolls-Clean sweep against politics of anarchy, arrogance. People are fed up. They feel there is no difference between them and others," the former Supreme Court judge and former Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh told CNN-News18.
