Anurag Singh Thakur, a cricketer-turned-politician and the son of former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, is vying for re-election on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from the Hamirpur constituency in the state.
Other family members including his father, brother Arun Singh Dhumal, wife Sheffali Thakur and uncle Rup Singh Dhumal have interests in companies, including Sant Valves Pvt. Ltd and Shedar Properties Pvt. Ltd.
Thakur did not respond to a detailed questionnaire emailed to him; Mint could not independently verify the nature of businesses done by the other companies.
