New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad declared war against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.

“We have won and Nitish Kumar remains your chief minister. Now that Bihar is in safe hands, I will campaign against Narendra Modi," said Prasad at a media briefing in Patna.

Targeting Modi, Prasad said he is sceptical whether Modi congratulated Kumar from his heart. “The BJP is not a party. It is a mask and this mask will not last for long," said Prasad.

Kumar said he was overwhelmed by Modi’s wishes and now all that is required is compromise from the central government’s end.

“Even if we have won, now we just need some compromise from the central government. Party that is in power always expects its opposition to be alert, and we will make sure that our opposition is always alert," said Kumar at the briefing.

Bihar state Congress president Ashok Choudhary said his party’s priority was development of the people.

“The Grand Alliance together made the manifesto and Congress’s work now is to make sure that this manifesto does not remain just on paper, it is implemented," said Choudhary who was also present at the briefing.
