Bhopal: Riding the Narendra Modi ‘wave´, the BJP virtually wiped out Congress in Madhya Pradesh as it won 27 of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
The consolation wins for Congress came in the Chhindwara and Guna Lok Sabha seats where Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia, respectively, retained their seats.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan credited Modi’s charismatic leadership for BJP’s spectacular win while also pointing at the large number of follies committed by the UPA government.

She was followed by Sushma Swaraj who retained Vidisha for a second term by a record margin of 4,10,698 votes.
