CAG to table three reports on Thursday
The reports include coal block allocation, PPP for the IGI Aiport and large power projects
The government’s auditor, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), will present its much-awaited audit reports on coal block allocation, public-private partnership for the Indira Gandhi International Airport and large power projects, also known as ultra mega power projects (UMPP), on Thursday.
In 2004-2009, the coal ministry allocated 155 coal blocks on a nomination basis to various firms for captive use.
There have been allegations that these blocks were allocated at undervalued rates.
The ruling United Progressive Alliance government, which returned to power with an impressive majority in the 2009 election, has been under political pressure for a series of corruption charges and controversies.
