Annu Tandon, the Congress member of Parliament (MP) from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, is vying for re-election from the same constituency.

Tandon, along with her sons Sachin Narain and Shalin Narain, controls companies including Roop Commercials Pvt. Ltd, Kripa Trading Pvt. Ltd and Ramachandra Holdings and Trading Pvt. Ltd, data from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows.
These are essentially holding companies for other entities, including Purica Foods Pvt. Ltd, Hriday Trading Pvt. Ltd, Sidh Commercials Pvt. Ltd and Hallmark Diamonds Pvt. Ltd.

Shalin Narain Tandon is a director on the board of Ekansha Enterprise Pvt. Ltd, which is associated with two companies linked to the Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL)—Reliance Consolidated Holdings Pvt. Ltd and Relcom Venture Capital Pvt. Ltd.
Sachin Narain Tandon confirmed by phone that he had received a detailed query e-mailed to him, and promised a response, but none had been received till the time of going to press.
Mint could not independently ascertain the exact nature of businesses carried out by the companies that the Tandon family controls.
