Lahore: Former President Pervez Musharraf has filed an appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers for a parliamentary constituency in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

In the appeal filed by lawyer Salman Safdar, Musharraf said he had served the country as president for 10 years but the returning officer in Kasur rejected his nomination papers.NextMAds
He pointed out that his nomination papers were accepted in another constituency at Chitral in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
Musharraf asked the tribunal to set aside the returning officer’s order and allow him to contest the 11 May polls in Kasur.
The former military ruler had filed nomination papers for four parliamentary constituencies.
However, his papers were rejected by returning officers in Karachi, Kasur and Islamabad.
