Stuttering Internet revolution
While India's mobile-first dynamic has set an example for many other countries, the broadband growth is not even close to matching up
India’s average Internet speeds of 2.7 Mbps remain the lowest in the Asia Pacific region, according to State of the Internet Report by AKAMAI. Only 16% of mobile and wired Internet connections in the country have connectivity speeds above 4 Mbps, and one of the primary reasons for the slow speeds is that large areas are still covered by 2G mobile networks. South Korea leads the way, with average broadband speeds clocked at 26.7 Mbps, while China logs in with 4.1 Mbps.
