AAP to invite Narendra Modi to Arvind Kejriwal’s swearing-in ceremony
Kejriwal will be taking oath as Delhi chief minister on 14 February at Ramlila Grounds
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday said that it would invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Arvind Kejriwal’s swearing-in ceremony as Delhi chief minister on 14 February at the Ramlila Grounds.
“We will invite the Prime Minister to the oath-taking ceremony of Arvind Kejriwal," AAP spokesperson Ashish Khaitan said.
After its landslide victory, the AAP announced that Kejriwal will be taking oath as the chief minister on 14 February at Ramlila Grounds, exactly a year after he had resigned as Delhi chief minister on the Lokpal issue.
The AAP on Tuesday won 67 of the 70 seats in the Delhi assembly polls. Kejriwal defeated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Nupur Sharma in the high-profile New Delhi constituency by a huge margin of 31,583 votes. Kejriwal has already met lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung and staked claim to form the government in Delhi.
