New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to consider a plea next week to increase the number of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers probing the Odisha chit fund scam.

A bench of justices T.S. Thakur and R. Banumathi was responding to the application filed by lawyer Shyam Divan, who said only a few CBI officials were investigating 44 companies.

Divan also said the CBI should make reports to the court regarding personnel, vehicles, etc., regularly.

Earlier, the apex court had directed the premier investigating agency to probe the chit fund scam.
