AAP splinter Swaraj Lehar to contest Punjab Assembly poll

Chandigarh: Swaraj Lehar, a splinter group of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), floated a political party here on Sunday and will contest the 2017 Assembly polls in Punjab.
The decision to form Swaraj Party was announced at a convention of members and activists of Swaraj Lehar.
Punjab convener of Swaraj Lehar Manjit Singh said Swaraj Party will be an alternative to political parties of the state and help pull Punjab out of educational, economic, social, religious and political crises.
Singh claimed the party has backing of two AAP MPs—Dharamvir Gandhi and HS Khalsa.
He also released the party flag and its 23-point agenda. A 41-member working committee, headed by Singh, was formed at the convention.
